Cloud acts like a soft box

Cloud helps soften the light and allows for a more gentle and ambient feel to the image. You do not need bright clear days for natural light images!

This was an image captured for a photography competition with the title “eyes”. The reflection was the focus of the image and it worked very well. Again this is another interesting view of a horse and captures character and depth.

This photograph was taken of the model in an outdoor location shoot. The conditions were interesting and challenging for my-self and the model, who worked very hard in cool conditions!

Due to the cloud the light levels were changing very quivkly, throwing camera settings out every 2 mins or so. I have adjusted the sky to make it slighty grainy to bring the model into the fore ground making her stand out of the page.

Taken using natural light only comming through a window. Using a large apature and focusing on the eye to soften the image combined with black and white shows the focused area offine skin and hair detail really clearly around the eye.

Trying to show the muscle tone on a grey horse is never easy! This equine portrait is an attempt to capture the grace and power in one image.

I guess this is one you will love or hate. More will hate I think, but maybe I will be wrong…. The subtle scene of trees beside a lake becomes full of depth and movement with an element of surprise.

Taking the picture so far from its origins interests me both in this form and macro images.

I was asked to capture an unusal aspect. This did the job well. Structure and form can be seen in this photograph, but it also shows another side to the horse. I really enjoy photographing horses and look forward to alot more similar work.

despite the conditions of a strong gale and salt spray everywhere, this image came together nicely
